i met dani filth the other day at bam margera's wedding with my friend. the show hadn't started yet so we were just standing around drinking beer and observing the washed up jackass/cky celebrities and he came up to us and struck up a conversation. we didn't recognize him because lol dani filth. he obviously assumed we would, which made it all that better. it went something like this:

dani filth walks up to us expecting a nice chat with some devoted fans
dani filth: hey guys hows it going
now we're pretty puzzled by this weird looking english midget that spontaneously appeared so we just respond with the usual small talk
us: pretty good, how about yourself
the midget's face convulses violently at the sudden realization: they don't know who i am. a look of utter consternation appears on his face
dani filth: uh.. great. you excited for the show
us: you bet
dani filth walks away in disbelief

later on he was introduced on stage (us: omg nowai) and redeemed himself with a pretty ace cover of anathema's sleepless. that was a good night

now you go

On the come up we were listening to Grateful Dead and the music started passing through my bowel and out my arsehole as this violet stream of light. I shat music. It was beautiful.

I shouted 'Stacy!' at Stacy from Eastenders on two separate occassions outside the same shop. If there's any justice in the world she now thinks of me as a stalker.

I met the dudes who built Razer, Panic Attack and Hypnodisc. Also Guthrie Govan. And I once stood like a metre away from Joe Satriani, didn't talk to him though I was too scared.

I read this completely wrong and thought you'd met the people who'd built Guthrie Govan.

I've met a few people in signings, but that's kind of "get something signed, say a quick hello, and leave" thing, so I wouldn't really count that. Nobody that I've really managed to have more than a few seconds of conversation with.

I've met a few of famous portuguese musicians. After gigs in my city i try to get backstage to meet the bands, and i suceeded a couple of times.

One time i was at a music store trying some gear i wanted to buy, when a famous musician who's a douchebag walked in and started making noise on a piano. Shortly after he arrived, a store employee came to ask me to turn the amp down (and it was already at bedroom TV level) because that "personality" wanted to try the piano. More like "rape the piano".

Also, i've been at the same restaurants/bars as some famous portuguese actors, but i never talk to them. They're there on their leisure time to enjoy without being bothered by some random dude who saw'em on TV.

Not the most famous person I've met but I think this is the best story

I went to see High On Fire a few years ago in this tiny nightclub. They were supported by Pelican, who I bumped into wandering around the town earlier in the day but they were geeks and we didn't have a lot to talk about so I pointed them towards a Subway and left them to it.

Met up with my friend at the gig and we ended up right at the front, headbanging in front of Matt Pike, heads right in the monitors. At the end Matt steps down from the stage, shakes hands with us, says "Thanks for coming, glad you enjoyed it" etc which was nice. So we go outside for a smoke and as we're finishing off our joints someone comes up to us and tells us the band are going out for a few drinks and Matt thought we might want to come along.

We end up walking miles looking for somewhere to get drunker and come across this pub that's somehow still open. We're drinking and chatting away with Matt who's telling us Britain is great because the people are friendly and the money's worth a lot more than dollars so it's worth touring here from their point of view. Can't remember what else we chatted about but we were there for ages.

We go out the back of the pub and there's a room there with a little Asian kid DJing and someone drumming along with the stuff he's playing. It's all drum and bass and we look completely out of place, a bunch of long haired guys but Matt Pike is well into it, so we all end up raving around in this room with High on Fire and a few girls that tagged along. Hilarious to see all these tattooed and bearded heavy metal guys surrounded by pill-head rave kids.

Anyway we go outside for another spliff and somehow get lost and end up passed out in a park. Wake up and we've got tons of merchandise, I'm wearing three or four High on Fire t-shirts. Don't remember how we ended up with so much stuff but anyway eventually we find the train station and make it home.

Matt Pike was awesome, really nice guy. I took tons of photos but lost my camera so probably someone found a camera full of pictures of metalheads going crazy in this pub.

I haven't met many people that would be considered famous. Here are a few though:

Bob Burnquist (my favorite skater ever)
Dan Aykroyd (at a signing for his vodka brand)
Joe Genaro from The Dead Milkmen (went to a few of his solo shows, and talked to him a bit while we were watching other bands)
a few NFL players (Seahawks) and NHL players (Flyers)

Oh, and I talked to Frank Turner for a bit at the merch table as one of his shows. He's awesome.
