So, I decided to buy my first bass amp after two years of playing in a band.

I found an old Peavey TNT130 for sale for a bit cheaper but somebody had already bought it. So I started searching for some other cheapish used bass amps and I found this - Hartke HyDrive 210c. It only cost €300 and I had heard people say good things about it so I decided to buy it. It has some cool features - 7 band EQ, I just need to learn to tweak it (I think I would have preferred a 3 band because it's easier to use, but yeah, maybe I'll learn to use it) plus bass and treble controls, compressor, frequency boost and overdrive.

The sound with my Thunderbird is bassy and ballsy. The overdrive isn't that aggressive, it's more like just adding a bit dirt to the tone and I like it. If I need more aggressive distortion, I can use my Big Muff (and I don't really even need distortion that much).

Here are some pictures.

that sounds like a pretty great price, too, used i'm guessing?

the speakers are aluminium/paper hybrids, aren't they?

I came across those when I was looking for my bass amp recently and asked about them and got no answers
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Yeah, used. But not that old - the original owner bought it in 2012. And yeah, the speakers are aluminium/paper hybrids.
