I have been offered one of these for £150 should I buy it, I was looking for a cheap cab for metal, I've read they have the celestions 100w speakers that people like for metal, I will be using it with my evh 5150 50watt what do you guys think, is this going to be a good setup or is the fact it's a 400w cab being powered by a 50watt head going to sound shit

They are actually decent cabs, made like a road case on the out side. I'd try and play your amp through it first, the 5150 III is not friendly with all speakers

I wouldnt worry about the power, you got a loud 50 watts there. It will be super loud.

I can't seem to find any details on what the speakers in there are supposed to be or are comparable to. If they are "low end" Celestions they probably wont be great. Maybe some combination of flat/muddy/harsh. If you like the design/look of the cab maybe u can replace 2 of the speakers first (V30/V30-clones, G12Ks would be awesome) and see where it takes you.

I used to have a Laney LV412 which had celestion rocket 50s in and i used that with my 6505 i had at the time and i really liked the tone. Ive never tried V30s so i dont know how much better they are than other speakers except what people write about them on places like here.

rocket 50's are terrible. seventy80's are somewhat palatable but are not great.

if they are "designed by celestion' or something similar the are probably shit.

fender uses eminence i think, which i don't really know much about, but if they are the 'special designed' they are even worse.

hopefully they are something good.
