So I'm thinking of swapping pickups in both of my guitars (Epiphone Goldtop/Ibanez ART100) The stock pups are in the Epi and there's a Dimarzio Evo in the bridge of the Ibby. Was thinking of using the Goldtop for metal (standard tuning only) and so I was wondering if the SD Black Winters would be any good? Also, what would be a good pup for a guitar tuned to drop Bb? I feel the Evolution just isn't cutting it.

If you're drop tuning to as low as Bb, you'll want to look into actives. That'll probably sound best through your 6505+ and TS9 combination.

Also, I plan on playing through an Avatar 2x12? This would be good for use with the 6505+, yes?

V30's are very solid. EMG 81/85 combo or SD Blackouts.

If you don't want to go with actives, consider the Lace Deathbuckers, the RailHammer Chisel (neck or bridge) and RailHammer Anvil (bridge only), or something like a Tesla VR-Extreme or Plasma.
