Reports on twitter and the South African president is making an "important announcement" tonight regarding his health.

And it's official.

Honestly, good. And not because I'm a dickhead, but he's been in a lot of pain for a while. IIRC, he was in a coma a while back. He's probably spent the last few years in a hospital bed. Doesn't sound much like life to me

He's done a lot, and he deserves rest.

It has been announced now by Jacob Zuma.

RIP Mandela.

It seems he's on his deathbed, not quite.

Yeah, lots of sources reporting it now. Confirmed by the South African president apparently. RIP
The plan was to drink until the pain over.
But what's worse, the pain or the hangover?

RIP madiba
hope the people of South Africa, and other peoples to whom he was an inspiration, can deal with this well, can move forward to see his vision and not let it die with him

95 is a ripe old age, he did a lot of good and lived well (other than those decades in jail, you know what I mean)
there's no need for sadness or to feel cheated
but he was such an important person in so many people's lives that there will be sadness, and such an iconic figure that his death will be shocking
But boys will be boys and girls have those eyes
that'll cut you to ribbons, sometimes
and all you can do is just wait by the moon
and bleed if it's what she says you ought to do

A sad day for South Africa, but I can't say I haven't been expecting it.

RIP Mandela.

It's good that he can finally be at rest, apparently the family were keeping him on life support because there were disputes over his will.

Mega sadface.

Probably for the best though, and 95 is a ripe old age.
