I need a bit of help with choosing a head and cab that would suit me. I'm looking for a good, thick crunch tone and a decent high gain, metal tone (which isn't too extreme) and a good clean tone too. So I'm looking for a good all round head that suits rhythm players more than lead players.

I've looked at the Marshall DSL100H 100W head and that sounds quite close to what I want. Any suggestions for other heads similar or that you think are better?

I need to save money but I would say I have a budget of around £1000, quite limited for a head and cab but you could get a decent rhythm tone I would think.

I'm playing a Gibson Les Paul 60's Tribute.

Any suggestions or insights are appreciated, thanks!

Just so we are clear, I'm talking about the original JCM DSL series that started in the late 90's and was discontinused a few years ago, not the new DSL series like you are talking about.

They sound much better also.
