Hi there.
I've recently been interested in getting a thumb-pick. I've had one in the past but I have an abnormally wide thumb, which led to the breakage of the wrap-around bit of the pick. This was the largest thumb-pick my local shop stocked, and was a rather large fender thumpick.
My preferences for picks are generally quite thick (1mm+), if that's any help.
What are my alternatives?
Why would you want a thumbpick? Are you playing a banjo?
Fender Mustang/Derfenstein DST> Boss Power Wah> Pedal Monsters Klone> Bogner Uberschall> Walrus Audio Janus> Randall RM20> Line 6 M9> Randall RM20
As I said in the OP, I've used them in the past, and I enjoyed it a lot. I found that I could use picking dynamics better, and I find it a pain to hybrid pick with a normal plectrum, but not with a thumbpick.
Have you thought about a Metal thumb pick? or you can always buy more than one at a time.

They do have different sizes have you checked Musiciansfriend? I seem to recall them having a selection.

Also I highly recommend www.stringsandbeyond.com great prices and fast shipping.
