I've been writing a lot of music and building up a home recording studio over the past year but my amp is one thing that needs replacing. I'm currently using a Orange Crush 20DLX which was alright a few years ago for practicing but now the speaker is humming at any reasonable volume and badly with overdrive.

The main music I make at the moment is atmospheric rock so its mainly good cleans I'm interested in, decent overdrive would be good but I'll get a distortion pedal if its lacking. I also do some freelance work for a music publishing company so anything versatile would be great.

I'm looking to spend around £300. Originally I was set on an Orange Tiny Terror, but its a little more than I'd like to spend overall. I'm a drummer by trade and I don't know anything really about amps, so any help is appreciated

If you go used, you can get a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, which is pretty much the standard workhorse around the world for cleans.

I love your sig by the way. One of my all time favorite songs.

Checked it out, the head goes for £400 annoyingly, stuff is so much cheaper in the US.

It seems like a good buy, but I sort of had the same issue as the guy above, can't see myself getting one for less than £400, I don't think I can push my budget that far unfortunately.

Ah awesome yeah the songs incredible, as is the album I must say.

Try the Vox AC4C1 if you're not gigging.

Seems like a cool little amp, if I was to gig with it would it be alright mic'ed up? I'll be gigging by early next year I hope.

I came across the Jet City 2112 in my research ( http://www.thomann.de/gb/jet_city_amplification_112rc.htm ) would something like this work for me? I've heard good things about the brand on here.

The jet city will do cleanish tones, but not extremely loud.

What about an Egnater tweaker or renegade?

Yeah its on Thomann for £244, only £2 more than the one I linked. I'll keep an eye on it

Ah okay, I'll have to look into Jet City a little more then I think.

Egnaters seem cool but the only UK seller I could see has them for £369 for just the head or £529 for the combo, bit much for me.

have you looked used? You'll get better gear for your money.

Or go with the Jet City. They seem to go out of stock quick on Thomann so you might want to jump on it soon.

Yeah I'm keeping an eye out, nothing out of whats been recommended has been cheap enough annoyingly. I'd spend more but with other stuff I need to get I can't justify going much past £300.

The Jet City seems like the way forward but I'm still open to more suggestions if there are any. Thank you all again for the help, I feel a little less clueless than before haha.
