I'm looking for pickups that i can use for Thrash metal, Heavy metal, etc. My favrite band is Megadeth, so i want something with that sound. I want to put them in my Jackson King V, which currently has EMG's, 81 and 85. I heard that Duncan JB's are good, any suggestions?

What's your gear so far? Usually it's the amplifier which makes the huge difference. Also, good luck with rewiring Passives when you've had Actives in there. It can be a bit of a pain.
Bass Gear:

Mensinger: Speesy
Fender Precision 1989 (CIJ Rosewood)
Fender Steve Harris (CIJ)
Lakland J Sonic 5
Epiphone Explorer
Maruszczyk (custom) Jake

EMGs are just fine for heavy metal sounds. They are used a lot in heavy/thrash metal - Metallica is the first band to come to my mind - so I wouldn't change them. Actually many people want EMGs in their guitars to get some heavy tones. Also, amp matters a lot more than your pickups so what amp do you have?

Just remember that there are no boring scales, just boring players.

EMGs are excellent Thrash metal pickups. I wouldnt change them. Unless you just want something different? If you just want to mimic Megadave its either JB passive (plus Jazz on neck I think?) or Livewire actives.

I'd change that amp first if you can. It doesn't even have a full EQ section (only bass and treble).
Charvel So-Cal (SH6TB/N, killswitch), Jackson RR5FR (TB6/Jazz, Drop C). Joyo pxl pro.
Loop1=Crybaby from hell, Boss PS-5, Seymour Duncan 805 or Green Rhino, EQD Hoof or Earthbound Audio Super Collider. Loop 1 into ISP Decimator II.
Loop 2 (FX loop)-Line6 M9, TC Spark Mini. Loop 2 into mxr 10band. All into a Peavey Triple XXX 212, Ibanez IL15.

Indeed. You have a good guitar with nice pickups. Time to concentrate on amp first before taking another look at pickups.
