So I'm looking for a practice amp for under $300. I like to play stuff from RHCP, Muse, Wolfmother, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Dream Theater, Queen, Iron Maiden, and Queens of the Stone Age.

I currently have a '72 Tele Deluxe.

New or used is fine.

This or a (obligatory recommendation) Peavey Vypyr 30. Peaveys are in general some of the best bang for the buck out there.

Marshall DSL301 - $380 http://madison.craigslist.org/msg/4209986865.html

I highly highly recommend saving up & talking down that one.

Honestly I would save an extra $100 or so and go with the Vypyr 60 tube, sounds much better than the 30. You can really crank it and jam with a drummer, however it is less portable then the 30 so it's a pain to lug around if you have to.

That or maybe take a crack at Traynor, they are a bit of a cross between a Marshall and another amp. Very solid amp for rock and you can get some very nice cleans out of them.
