i know nothing about equipment.

i need a new amp.

i have a lower end ltd guitar and a line 6 m13 pedalboard

i will also be adding an expression pedal and dedicated volume pedal

i dont really need a half stack but thats what his is.

im looking to be able to play small venues.

i play all types of rock. nirvana, audioslave, soundgarden, metallica, pantera, system of a down. I really like david gilmours playing. chili peppers, CKY.

a wide variety of distortion and clean.

so is this a good deal or should i go after something else?

pfft no way. you can get an xxx combo used for that much, even cheaper. xxl is the solid stage version of the xxx. and believe me, even the 60w 1x12 xxx is loud as balls.

You've got an M13 and you're looking for a 'more expensive pedal' ???

The Line 6 M series is awesome! You definitely don't need to replace that, at all!

As for the amp, you can surely get something much better for $450

Imagine the part of the ballsack where occasionally old poo sticks to the pubes and hardens, and you then have to pull out, but as an amp. That's an MG.

Greatest quote of all time?

i think you misread, an expression pedal.

that is what you use with your foot for changing parameters on some MFX patches or for a wah or volume pedal with the MFX unit.

Amp is good classic solid state but its also something that goes for peanuts on used market. Around 150$ or something along those lines. What cab comes along with it? If its matching XXL 4x12 cab then no. I would not pay 450 bucks. If its XXX or 5150 cab, maybe. Hard to say for sure though because peaveys are more expensive here.

*edit* i may have mixed the used pricing with Peavey Supreme XL. XXL is bit more expensive. But it should still be quite cheap. Old solid states do not have much resale value making some of them quite a bargain.
