Hey guys,

The singer of my band wants to buy a hollow body guitar, because we play both acoustic and electric (rock) songs.
The situation:
- Budget is 800 euros
- Can be a used guitar
- I don't want it to be an Epiphone
- A bigsby-like tailpiece is appreciated
- I don't like dot inlays
- Color: Red (or sunburst)
- Should have the right sound to switch from acoustic sounding to steady rock in a song.

I was thinking of a used Gibson, higher end Gretsch or maybe an Ibanez? What's your opinion of these brands in hollow body guitars?

What brand (and model) should he buy?

Thanks!

If you're switching between rock and acoustic type tones, you're probably going to want piezos in there...

I'll have to think a bit.

Edit: the discontinued Schecter C1EA Semi-Hollow Electric Guitar with Piezo Pickup would be a semihollow that fits your requirements.

Here's another, the Fret-King Elise "GG" Gordon Giltrap:

Separate magnetic and piezo volumes, passive magnetic tone, three band active for piezo circuit, three way toggle for magnetic pickups, and three way mini-toggle to select piezo/piezo, piezo/magnetic and magnetic/magnetic only
