I didn't want to bump my old thread, so i've decided to open a new one (hopefully that's ok ). Anyways, I'm looking for a new pickup for my guitar; the dimarzio-ibz isn't doing it for me anymore. I'm pretty much set on dimarzio, as they would be a drop-in replacement for the guitar's original pickups. These are my guitar specs:

Basswood body with Quilted maple top
Rosewood fingerboard
Maple neck
Licensed Floyd rose

My amp is a Peavey 3120.

Here are the ones I was thinking of:

D-sonic
Crunch Lab
D activator
Super 3
Paf pro

I'm looking for a clear and tight, thick sound with alot of chug to it, kind of like a hybrid of this: Testament-Rise Up

...And this combined. (right around 2:01): Artillery-Damned Religion

I hope I can get some help in getting the guitar sound in these songs.

crunchlab/liquifire would be great. i have that combo on my 2570EVSL Ibby Prestige.

my 3550MZ Prestige has Tone Zone/Air Norton.

my third Prestige is stock atm.

i love the crunchlab, nice and ballsy and nice and tight. pretty responsive.

the Air Norton and Liqufire are a tough call. LQ is smoother and more fluid, the air norton is a little bit more aggressive, but they are both great. i bet nobody could do a blind test between the two and know, on a live rig.

i can't tell myself half the time.

I'm liking the crunchlab myself, too. I've heard that the tone zone sounds like a looser and warmer crunchlab, so I might think of that, too.

I have tone zone/paf pro combo
work very well together and I love
the warm thick sounds I can achieve.
Allowed me to bump my gain down a
bit and still achieve my tone.

I'm really liking the tone zone now! However, judging by what I have heard about it so far, i'm preferring the super 3 (from what I know, it's super tight). I don't know about how either would sound in my guitar. Being a basswood guitar, it has a nasty low mid spike which makes any bassy pickup sound muddy, and any trebly pickup sound piercing. The super 3 seems better, is what i'm trying to say.
