Yeah, I like the JTM-45's breakup sound.
Is there any relatively cheap ($100 max, better if $75) distortion/overdrive pedal that would get me a sound of that sort?
I'm in Italy and I don't really care if the thing is used.

look for a used AMT M-drive. These are marshall in a box pedals, but they are more Plexi/800ish.

Joyo has got to have something.

What about a used Line 6 POD XT? I bought one for $65USD in May off ebay and it has some pretty good old Marshall tones in it for the price
2002 PRS CE22
2013 G&L ASAT Deluxe
2009 Epiphone G-400 (SH-4)
Marshall JCM2000 DSL100
Krank 1980 Jr 20watt
Krank Rev 4x12 (eminence V12)
GFS Greenie/Digitech Bad Monkey
Morley Bad Horsie 2
MXR Smart Gate

one of the zvex pedals is meant to do that tone, i think. box of rock? might be over budget, though.

joyo hot plexi is more plexi, maybe even modded plexi, territory. the ultimate drive might work at a pinch, though. i'm not too well up on vintage marshalls, though, so what i've said might be BS
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Tried, the best deal I can find is €90, and I'd rather go analog.
I can already get the sound I'm looking for on my computer, but I hate having to turn up the thing and wait for all the stuff to open and having to use computer speakers and stuff...
For €40 I can get the POD's bag though

Wuuh schems and layouts, I might as well build a Box of Rock myself since I'm off school for another week and a half...

screw that, build a jmt45. my total on my build was $450 i did use heyboer transformers. they aren't extremely expensive, but they certainly higher quality but you could probably save a little money if you went with generic transformers.

you know you want to. then you would have the real thing, but where can you go to dime it...

if you can build a pedal, you should have no problem.

There is also the Harley Benton/Joyo Crunch Distortion, which apparently is a MI Audio Crunch Box Clone.

For ****'s sake I don't have the money
Hell yeah I want to, but apart from the money and the fact I'd have to get all of the stuff here in Italy, which could be a problem, my neighbors would be more than happy to dig a deeeeeeeeeep hole themselves in which I could play with the thing on 11 while they fill the hole with dirt again.

Again, that's meant to simulate a hot rodded plexi/JCM800.

In italy, you gotta pay VAT for every ****in thing you buy from outside the EU.
The VAT here is 23%.
****in' 23%.
Plus, I present you one of the many ways in which the government robs us everyday:
you gotta pay VAT on shipping, too.
I'd probably be better off finding someplace else to get the stuff from if I was to actually do the thing.

^ yeah it's the same here except vat is 20%. You'd also need to check the kit from the US had an EU voltage tap on the power transformer (i'm guessing it does if cath built one, i think australia is the same voltage as the eu).

yep but it's even higher gain than the hot plexi (by some margin). Nice pedal (at least in terms of its sound if not its build quality), just I'm not sure it's what he wants.

also lol at cath and co saying he should build a real jtm45
