I've been playing songs that involve bends and not having any problems. Recently I learned the intro to "Johnny B Goode", and I'm having a problem with the series of queick bends at the eighth fret on the G string.

I'm catching my 2nd and 3rd fingers on the D string and making a sound on that string. Ordinarily I'll use an extra finger for muting strings above the target string, but I need the first finger for the bar chord across the E and B strings on the sixth fret.

I've tried palm muting at the top of the bend, but I'm still making a noise with the D or even A string on the way up. My fingertips have some pretty heavy callouses and they catch easily on the strings.

Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong, or what I could do differently?

Thanks for any replies.
