id say go for the head. Then you get your own choice of speakers in a 2x12 or 4x12 cab.
I was in the same position myself, but ended up going with the 5150ii (older version of the 6505+)

I've played all kinds of 6505s and 5150s a bunch of times. To my ears, the 6505+ 112 is an "easier" amp. It sounds more compressed and tighter right out of the box and basically comes set up to sound good. The head is a little more wild, it takes a bit more effort to dial in and get sounding good. But it sounds better (just bigger, more powerful) when you do dial it in. Granted that could be (probably is) entirely due to having more speakers (I've only used them with 412s).

^^Indeed, the gap narrows once you run the 112 version through a big cab with good speakers. After tube and speaker/cab upgrades, I'm very pleased with my 6505+ 112. I'll be converting mine into a head soon and I plan to keep the original box as a 112 "cab." I'll do some clips to show just how different it sounds from 112 to 412.

^ That'd be great. Your tone is great with those Blackouts.

I bought the combo and made it a head, this left me with a practice speaker (the Sheffield) for a 112 cab at home. I have a 212 where we jam, so I have an easier time carrying just the head
