I just replaced the tubes in my Peavey 5150 Combo and need help identifying the tubes that were in it (Pics attached).

The Power Tubes say Hunan Shuguan Electron Group Imp. & Exp. Corp - Model is a 6L6GC and made in China.

The Pre-Amp tubes are stamped with 12AX7A in red and there is a Made In China sticker on them.

I'm not a tube expert by any means but they seem in really bad shape. I picked this up a few months ago and haven't gotten the volume over 2 yet. The person I bought it from hadn't really used it in 6 months or so and the person he bought it from typically used the clean channel with pedals.

I put in a JJ's retube set from Eurotubes and followed the instructions to use contact cleaner (DeoxIT) so the new tubes slid right in. Still waiting to fire it up with the new tubes (on conf calls working from home today )

Thanks for the help!

Ok. So are you thinking that all of them are this Hunan brand? Do you guys know anything about them? I've never heard of them before. Thanks!

Shuguan, not hunan.

Chinese, among the cheapest you can find, and they aren't really good.

Clue: amplifiers amplify so don't turn it on if you need quiet.

shuguang tubes.

they are a commonly rebranded tube, you'll find them as rubys, mesa, orange, fender, groove tubes, etc.

i don't know if i have run across any, but i have actually heard fairly good things about them by some people. they are a chinese tube though and many people don't have overly fond things to say about them
