My friend and I are wanting to cover "I won't say I'm okay" by Front Porch Step but I can't find and chords or tabs for it online and I've spent the past few days trying to figure it out myself and I just can't get it. There is also a Mandolin I believe (That's what it sounds like) and to my ear it's much louder than the guitar and maybe that's why I can't hear the chords too well. Would someone be so kind as to try to figure it out for me? I would be more than glad to credit you in our cover.

Here is the link to the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjuDfdQfqMk

Also, I'm new to the site so if I posted this in the wrong section please feel free to redirect it or repost it in the correct place or something.

E -3---3---2---0--
B -3---1---3---1--
G -0---0---2---2--
D -0---2---0---2--
A -2---3---0---0--
E -3---0---0---0--

INTRO: G C G C

VERSE:
         G
I won't hold my tongue.
                     C
I'm not okay without you here.
                G
I guess what's done is done.
                               C
I just feel so exposed without you near.

BREAK:
Am C
   And I won't say that I'm okay,
Am
'Cause you taught me not to lie,
                                   C D
So know that I'll miss you everyday.

PRE-CHORUS:
            G
You always taught me to be good,

And always do my best to be selfless
       C
But I know that God is holding you

And I am so damn jealous,
         Am
'Cause I miss your arms around me

And the way you make me laugh.
         D
Now I'm stuck inside this prison that says

You're never coming back.

CHORUS:
         G
So I'm sitting in my room

As I try to write this song.
        C
I'm so sorry that it's not good enough.

It's just that everything seems wrong,
           Am
And I keep bursting into tears

Because the pain won't go away,
             D
Because the father took my best friend

And said she cannot come out to play
         G C G C
Anymore.

REFRAIN:
         G
I won't hold my tongue.
                     C
I'm not okay without you here.
         G
I won't hold my tongue.
                     C
I'm not okay without you here.
         G
I won't hold my tongue.
                     C
I'm not okay without you here.

VERSE:
                G
I guess what's done is done.
                               C
I just feel so exposed without you near.

BREAK:
Am C
   And I won't say that I'm okay,
Am
'Cause you taught me not to lie,
                                    C D
So know that I'll miss you everyday.

PRE-CHORUS:
            G
You always taught me to be good,

And always do my best to be selfless
       C
But I know that God is holding you

And I am so damn jealous,
         Am
'Cause I miss your arms around me

And the way you make me laugh.
             D
And now I'm stuck inside this prison that says

You're never coming back.

CHORUS:
             G
And now I'm sitting in my room

As I try to write this song.
        C
I'm so sorry that it's not good enough.

It's just that everything seems wrong,
           Am
But I will try my best to be good

So I can pay my way,
           D
Straight through the pearly gates

Into your arms so we can play
      G
Once more.

SPOKEN OUTRO: (play Ab, Db over and over until end)
G
Grandma, Uh, I love God with all my heart
    C
And uh, The only reason that isn't
                                   G
Stated in my life is because of you

And I really don't understand it God

That you introduced me to

What would take you away so fast
    C
When you were the only person

That ever understood a thing I ever said

And I really don't understand
                              G
How to deal with this anymore

And, I'm just really not okay with this
   C
And I miss you and I understand you're in heaven
                              G
But I don't want to be selfish

I don't want you to be in heaven

I want you to be back down here

I don't want you to be there
                      C
I want you to be here

What am I supposed to do now
                      G C G C fade out...
That's all I'm asking

Thank you so much! I don't know how I couldn't find this! You will definitely receive credit once we post this cover

You couldn't find it because I just tabbed it out a little while ago... It wasn't on the Internet.. I had to sit down and figure it out.... One thing that helps is playing the C and G chord the way I show it... It gives a higher sound like you want.

I would suggest also since two of you will be playing this song that one play it with the capo on the first fret and the other play it without since i indicated those chords below my tab..... the whole song is basically 4 chords..... don't be afraid to move a finger off on the G and C chord at times..... I might also suggest if you really want a mandolin type sound to place a capo real high up like on the 6th fret and transpose the chords I have and play it like that as well..... i think that may sound really good....

CAPO 1ST FRET CAPO 6th FRET
G                         =              D
C                         =              G
D                         =              A
Am                       =             Em

if you need any other help let me know
