Hi I wanted to know if the line 6 spider valve 112 is a modelling amp or not. All I know is that it is a tube amp.

Thanks

Yes it is a modelling amp, and no it is not a tube amp, just a hybrid amp.

I used to have the SV HD100 and I liked it, but it took me over a year to finally dial it in plus I put the Strymon SVPre in it which adds an extra 12ax7 at the input so your signal hits a tube before the DSP at the input.

Not exactly. The SV has a tube pre and power section but it also has a digital modeling section.

If it's modeling, obviously it has a DSP in it somewhere, unless it's modeling is done strictly through analog solid state circuits.

There's no such thing as a pure valve modeling amp unless it has a lot of sections built into it that you switch between. Even then, I wouldn't call it a modeling amp still.
