Hey there,

I've noticed recently that my guitar has been sounding really crap recently and i don't know why! The main problem is that power chords don't ring and sound out as they should.

To my extent, it should be intonated and i only restrung it a couple of weeks ago.

Any ideas?

I know this sounds kind of condescending, but do you have a tuner? If you do, I suggest tuning it with one. I have the same issue with my Gibson quite regularly, and 9 times out of 10, it's because the guitar wasn't in tune. Other than that, take it to a local music shop and get it set up properly. You'd be surprised how much of a difference a good setup makes.

But as for the tuning, if even one string is off a bit, it can make the entire chord sound bad.

does the sound seem to decay quickly when plugged into something? A cable could be causing the signal to become weaker. Or a pedal.
