This is an opinion /thread..

What are your thoughts on covering songs by bands with two guitarists when you're the only guitarist in a band? Anyone have an experience of successes/failures? Advice etc.

Done it a couple of times. It might sound a bit more... "empty", but you have more liberty while learning the song, as you can learn both guitar parts and play a mix of both parts at different times, depending on what your bassist plays.

It depends so much on the specifics of the songs.

Generally, I'm not interesting it trying to sound exactly like the record, so I view this sort of thing as a fun challenge.

But if you're trying to do just-like-the-record covers it can be really frustrating.
