Hey there! First post, but I use the tabs all the time!

Alright, so I'm looking for a guitar. I'd like to buy a nice used one rather than a cheap new one. I'm stalking Craigslist as we speak and finding some things that look like good deals, but I have no way to know for sure.

I like to play rock, punk specifically. Lately, I've been getting into a lot of ska. However, I don't want a guitar that will only sound good playing one type of music. Just a nice guitar that is easy to play and sounds good no matter what I play.

Budget is $300. I also need an amp, so hopefully I'll find something for a little less than that.

What else do you guys need to know? I'll post some of the things I'm finding on Craigslist for you guys to tell me about.

Thanks in advance for your help!

CRAIGSLIST CRAP

-Jackson dinky reverse js30 $300 obo

-Ibanez SA260 custom Guitar with hard case $200

-And this (no idea how much, but I've always dreamt of a hollow body and this just looks gorgeous) http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/msg/4260528845.html

Get the Alleykat and Line 6. $325 for both is a great deal.

The Epi should sound good with most things, you could even dabble in jazz if you so desired. And although I'm not a huge fan of Line 6, as a starter's amp it should do you well.

Cool! How does the hollow body affect sound?

I just made the guy an offer... I'm picking it up today for $300! Read some reviews and decided it was going to be a good deal.
