I recently purchased a Union Station Chromatic tuner for my electric guitar, and was wondering which of the two "modes", (chromatic or flat), in order to achieve the proper standard tuning. Also, would you please inform me of each "modes" use. Thank you in advance for your help!

in any electronic tuner, you'll want to use a standard mode, or in your case the chromatic.

if you were tuning for flat, that mode lets you tune down for flat tunings.

edit: here is Korgs tuners description...

Quinta Flat Tuning mode -- a world-wide first!
The GA-1’s Quinta Flat Tuning mode supports the lowered tunings used in heavy
metal styles to give more weight to the sound. Until now, dedicated guitar tuners have
supported a maximum of only four semitones below standard pitch, but the GA-1 gives
you five steps of flatted tuning, extending as far as five semitones below standard pitch,
and supporting even super-long scale guitars that are five frets longer than conventional
guitars.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.
