I have an ibanez strat and want to put a kill switch on it.
the thing is I don't want to make any holes and stuff
so I came up with this :
the pickup switch has five positions
some of them (the middle one for example ) have an awful tone and I never use them
I want to cut the middle position wire so whenever I switch on it...it goes silent.
it this a good idea or can the switch and/or other eletronic parts of the guitar be damaged from intense use of the kill switch ?
thank you

I was just thinking of doing something similar this morning. I was working on a project guitar of mine. It is one pickup with volume and tone. I may remove the tone pot and put in a three way switch....use one position for a kill switch.....other position for? I have a few ideas but not sure for what yet. I'm open to any ideas???

you can get on/off switches. one way, you got guitar, flip it down, and it kills it.
