Pooping is well good though, to be fair.

Writers Block is a cool opener for Peter Bjorn & John's Writers Block.

That's cool.

This will always be one of my favourite album openers:

http://youtu.be/SGK00Q7xx-s

It's perfect in my opinion, and they opened the concert with it when I saw them live. Awesome concert opener.

Also,

Stinkfist by Tool

Break On Through by The Doors

The Wolf Is Loose by Mastodon opens that album really well.

Slayer had a run of good ones; 'Angel of Death' from Reign in Blood, 'South of Heaven' from South of Heaven, and 'War Ensemble' from Seasons in the Abyss.
Adding nothing of major interest to topics on UG since March 03, 2007.

Club Foot by Kasabian

60 Feet Tall from Dead Weather's Horehound

Sweet Sour from Band of Skulls' album of the same name

No-one Loves Me (etc) from Them Crooked Vultures

Oh and Sleeping Ute from Shields by Grizzly Bear
My old signature was too long. Have a daisy.

I forgot.

Them Bones

Although my version for some reason starts with Rain When I Die, which works jsut as well

Yeah, my version is a bit weird too because Down In a Hole is supposed to come after Rain When I Die but in my version it goes straight from Rain When I Die to Sickman and Down In a Hole is at the end, before Would.

Same here, actually!

^Dead is the second track, I think. Opening track is The End. I probably haven't heard the album since I was 16 so I might be wrong. (I've actually been thinking of giving it a proper listen soon.)

Ah, sorry. Basically the segue between the first and second tracks. Always stuck with me. And do so. It's a good album.

Am I Wry? No. by Mew is also a great start to an album.

Way way way too many to count.

I've always been a fan of prog rock opening tracks because they're always so grand

A Farewell to Kings - Rush
21st Century Schizoid Man - King Crimson
One of These Days - Pink Floyd
Roundabout - Yes

But there are also some very notably good alt rock/indie ones

It's Not Meant to Be - Tame Impala
An Ode to Sleep - Twenty One Pilots
In One Ear - Cage the Elephant

etc etc
