Hi all,

Hoping for some help (especially if any of you have any 'legal' expertise)...

I'm looking to pull together a list of all of the reasonably common electric (including semi-hollow) guitar shapes, but giving them generic names that I can get away with publishing eg Stratocaster would be S-Shape. Can you please give me as many body shapes that you know of and a generic name that they might be known by.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Around the time Ibanez released the RG line, Yamaha Released their RGX line so I'd say anything along those lines screams superstrat.

There are also the Mosrite style guitars. I don't know of a generic term for them, but if a Strat is an S type, and a Tele a T, why not an M?

Rickenbacker and Steinberger guitars are also pretty much unique in design.
