Hey guys, I was wonder what your opinion is for amp suggestions in the $1000-1500 range. Preferably a 212 or 412. I don't want louder than a twin or deluxe reverb but loud enough to gig. I am playing a Gibson LP.
Thx for the input

Budget? - What is practical for you and what is your limit?

Genres? - What style do you play mostly, fav guitarists, do you need cleans, etc?

New or Used? - Lots of great amps out there used, especially in a down economy.

Home or Gig? - Also important. Maybe you do both. Jamming with a drummer can be considered 'gigging' but you won't have a PA etc.

Closest City? - We aren't here to stalk you but we need to know where you are in the world roughly and we can help further if we know what city you are in (ie craigslist, local shops, Guitar Center used section, etc)

Current Gear? - Also good for us to know.

Try again dude. Otherwise, 6505.

No offense but budget is in the subject line. Gig is in the post.
Anyhow I'm looking for a new amp in that price range and Marshall JCM2000 DSL50/100 seems to be winning. Only $600....

I said my budget: $1000-1500
Genres: Alt rock, classic rock; need cleans; fav guitarists: Jimmy Page, Clapton, Jonny Greenwood, Rivers Cuomo
New or used: no preference
Both home and gig
Outside of Philadelphia
Current gear: Gibson Les Paul 60s Trib, Boss Blues Driver 2, Dunlop 535q wah

Yeah, and that is totally all the information we need

I copy and pasted that list my man. Its in our Rules and Resources thread.

TS, the Splawn mentioned (most Splawns, for that matter) would do nicely. As Marrowoflife mentioned, a JCM2000 DSL would be good. Really just from what you've given it seems a Marshall or Marshall-alike would be your best bet.

You're good dude, nothing to be sorry for it's just easier to copy and paste that, we used to have to write all the crap in every time, quite the pain.

Quickrod has more gain and can be a bit nastier sounding and heavier. The SR is also a 40 watt combo.

Pretty fair price, EL34s definitely sound best in that amp. More aggressive and has more Marshally snarl than the KT88 version

Holy crap you have a lot of kick ass amps around you for sale. The Egnater Renegade is also worth looking into and if you want any more info on Splawn hit me up but it looks like you are in good hands.
