So far I've built a Univox Superfuzz clone (with octave trimmer) and Shin-Ei Companion FY-2. About to finish clones of the Maestro FZ-1 (also known as the "Satisfaction" fuzz), Fender Blender, V4 Big Muff with the IC's, Fuzz Factory, and Marshall Supa Fuzz (Tone Bender with more bass).
4 exceptions that I'm not gonna clone are the Fuzz Face, Tone Bender MK II, Triangle or Rams Head Big Muff, and Ampeg Scrambler. Since I'm just gonna end up buying the kits of these that BYOC sells.

So the question is do you guys know of any cool fuzz pedals, that I should try to clone?
Post a link of the sound or which bands famously used them (and which song). Thanks. I'll probably post pics and maybe a video of them when they are done.

Try a Jordan Bosstone.
And play around with the input and output caps.

The Univox Squarewave is also cool.

edit:
Also, see the Bronx Cheer in my PCB tutorial.

do an octave fuzz like the octavia
punk isn't dead, it's always smelled that way.

I've been thinking of doing a transformer based octave fuzz for a while, BYOC makes a kit with a switch to lift the octave. I was thinking of doing that with a footswitch so I could go from chords to single note runs and the chords wouldn't sound like shit, which is the main thing I dislike about octave fuzzes.

the frantone peachfuzz is quite nice, if my danelectro clone is anything to go by (and it's not too complex a circuit to clone, IIRC it's a bit more complex than most fuzzes). more of a modern classic, though.
I'm an idiot and I accidentally clicked the "Remove all subscriptions" button. If it seems like I'm ignoring you, I'm not, I'm just no longer subscribed to the thread. If you quote me or do the @user thing at me, hopefully it'll notify me through my notifications and I'll get back to you.

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

you should clone all the z.vex pedals and put zachary out of business.

He seems like a nice guy but his prices are absolutely ridiculous and since I can build most of them for about 50 bucks, I'm not paying 300+ for the same thing when I don't give a damn about the paint job.
