We all wanted to be something growing up. I wanted to be a Formula 1 driver, a fighter pilot, a video game creator, a writer, etc.

I'm now 24 and none of these were ever really attempted. I did some karting and went to some race classes but it's all too expensive. I have settled to become a teacher.

What were your dreams? Did you chase them?

my dreams are kind of dead. even as a child I knew I had no chance.

childhood dreams: Be a pro footballer (soccer that is), be a mechanic, late childhood and early teens was to be a musician.

I'm studying mechanical engineering so I kinda am I guess. I worked in a car garage for a bit doing weekend work just helping out, it was really fun but I could tell I would be really bored if I did it for a living. Engineering is much more engaging and entertaining to me, so I'm happy, and its kinda like a mechanic

I gave up on being a footballer pretty early on, and I knew I'd never make it as a musician. I always knew I'd be some form of mechanic/engineer though, like at 6-7 I saw something about engineering on TV when I was off sick, and I thought that it looked really cool and I've wanted to do it since

Did your dream come true?

That's the important part.

Believe in yourself, nelsie. You can do it.

When I was young I wanted to be a veterinarian, video game developer or Gundam Pilot...

Never truly worked towards any single one, now I'm an IT consultant for major Oil and gas companies. Technically could have gone for graphic design and more programing and tried the game developer stuff in school, but I found out I loath programming. lol

But hey if Japan builds a gundam that can fly I'm running out to get my pilot licenses asap!

i had big goals with music.

I've done some cool stuff, but I am not where I wanted to be as far as success goes. Pretty satisfied with my skill level though. I mainly play now without any stupid goals or expectations, and if something happens then that'd be sweet.

I don't really remember wanting a job when little. I just wanted to be filthy rich and travel a lot. Or be a professional athlete.

As I got older I wanted to be a veterinarian though. I'm studying "people medicine" and stuff now, so I guess it's not far off

I wanted to be an MLB player and a superhero. I didn't even like music until I was like 10. About to get my bachelor's this year in Music Performance.

..Being an MLB player mighta been better.

I wanted to be a scientist. I never knew what kind. Just a scientist. Or a storm chaser.

I'm a computer science major, and I plan on getting an additional degree in meteorology once I finish my current one. Close enough.

Wanted to be a football player when I was a kid. Then wanted to be writer of some sort (like a critic). Now wanna be a teacher, which i'm pretty pumped for.

I dreamed of playing in the NHL, but never really thought I could or tried to pursue it. Other than that I wanted to be an author/novelist in high school. I'm studying history now at school, so maybe someday I'll get something published and come close to achieving that

I never really wanted to be anything. There were a bunch of jobs I thought were cool like formula 1 driver, astronaut, super hero, veterinarian, architect, and rock star.

Right now I'm finishing my degree in business and marketing. I leave for Australia this Thursday on exchange. I'll come back and graduate in the fall. Not sure what I want to do with my life. My younger self's ideas still seem like a good idea.

Thanks, I've been in two minds about engineering recently though, mainly because the studying is hard and I dunno if its for me, its costing a lot and I dont want to fail. I think I'll be ok, if I dont finish this then I'll probably just work shitty jobs for a while which wouldnt be fun

Child me would be proud that I still play pokemon and zelda, and still watch cartoons

I'm sort of excited to be a teacher, sort of mad I wasted so much time on engineering, and very anxious about how competitive it is.

At about 13-16 I wanted to chase the dream of being a video game dev. I spent a year doing computing in college where I discovered that I sucked at it and that I actually didn't like it.

When I was a childhood (as well as into my early teens), there were numerous dreams that I've had. For instance, I've always wanted to be some form of engineer, NFL football player (I wanted to be the next Jerome Bettis) and a musician.

The football thing never worked out. I wanted to start playing when I was 7 and my parents were against it. If I did play, I would have loved to played half-back, linebacker, strong safety, o possibly QB, but that never came to be. Funniest thing about it was that they wanted me to do it halfway through my junior year.

It's a bit pointless explaining the musician part. I've been involved with guitar and violin most of my life and both will stick with me. Hell, I may even learn a few more instruments.

Engineering has always interested me. I always found it interest how things work and what could potentially be made. When I graduated high school last June, I didn't know what I was doing with my life, so I'm currently attending a 2-year school for Electronics Technology. Once I'm done here, I'm going to become an Electronics/Electrical Engineer.

As an adult I'm on my way to being a secretary. Hopefully I find work in a vet's office.

Believe it or not, I wanted to be a waste removal man when I was little. (or 'dustbin man' as we used to call them) I'd see these huge dust wagons coming down the street once a week with guys emptying people's rubbish bins into them and operating the big noisy compactors on the back of them and I was mesmerised, I just wanted to operate that machinery.

My dream didn't come true though, I ended up having to become a musician and then an artist.

I was one of those few kids who never dreamed about becoming anyone or achieving anything special. And I haven't either at the age of 26.

I've never known what I want to do. I'm now 21, studying philosophy and politics, and still don't really know what I want to do.

Probably want to be a musician more than anything, but I really don't know.

i had always wanted to be a video game designer (hate video games now) or an artist (suck at it). i also used to draw and paint random shit on paper and then try to sell them.

almost wish i had one of them though, i'm kind of into abstract stuff. maybe i could have found an area that looked awesome when taken out of context of the picture (probably not though).
