So I went to this assesment day for a graduate job and one of our group tasks was to collectively come up with, what we believe to be the 3 most important/best inventions ever. We only actually gave them 1 because without this, all technology today probably wouldn't be possible. They said it was one of the best answers they had had For lols, we said Breaking Bad and bacon as the other two choices

We said Cracking. For the people that don't know, its the chemical process of making plastic such as silicon which is used for computer chips which are used worldwide from space probes to washing machines so quite a big deal. (and bewbeez)

So Pit, what are the top 3 inventions according to you? Whether they are because they are useful, ingenious or just badass.

Gravity was invented by people. Sir Isaac Newton invented gravity to get fruit down from trees to make his Newton fig roll cookies.

Darwin created the theory of gravity, he didn't build a machine to make it Ha I used to be religious when I was a kid due to parents being churchgoers, although not devout christians.

Lets just say I 'grew out of it'.

Printing Press

Electricity (I know no one invented it, but the harnessing of it for use. TS invention would be useless without it)

The Wheel (So simple that it gets over-looked, but try and imagine life without it..)

wouldn't language fall under the concept of communication rather?

the wheel, writing, code of laws i'd assume are high up.

Is communication a mutually exclusive category to inventions? I don't know. It seems like at one point we didn't have it and at a later point we did, though maybe it is a bit too gradual a shift.

Its a lot more refined than simple grunts.

To be honest, I doubt it was created by one person but more added to over time, like it still is.

don't know, but communication - > language seems to be one of those things that kind of was "discovered/developed" rather than invented by some freakin genius like Wayne Gretzky or Jesus.

I could also see nuclear bombs becoming very very very important in the near future. Not necessarily in a good way though.

What because of the deterrent? They've been saying that for 50 years. It reeks of propaganda.

Basing my choices on which inventions have the biggest impact on civilization my picks would be...

Agriculture, printing press and electronic circuits

Special mention to [modern] contraception, the wheel, and the computer
