Hey Everybody! Check out my new rap metal/industrial/progressive metal project, Last to the Worm. Just put out a new song called "New Ego" today. All instruments, recording, and production are done by me. The vocals on the last verse were done by my friend of Suburban Truth.

I'm doing my best not to make your stereotypical '90s/early 2000s nu-metal by incorporating different time signatures as well as melodic guitars and synths.

Let me know what you think!

Very interesting sound you got doing on there, kind of a mix between Symphony X and Stuck Mojo, also stays interesting throughout. While I like the idea of rap vocals on it I'm not too sure about the laid-back delivery, doesn't quite compliment the music as a more intense deliver might. Mix-wise the only change to the instrumental mixing I'd recommend is making the drums a little louder and brighter, as for the vocals the volume definitely need to be more consistent. Also try boosting them at around 10khz to bring out the sibilance and make the words a bit easier to make out. Overall very good though!

Thanks, Man! I totally agree with your comment about the delivery. I'd initially tracked the vocals more aggressively when I demoed it to get the ideas out, but went a little quieter when I recorded it for real in my bedroom to keep the neighbors happy. Guess it was at the expense of quality.

Checking your stuff out right now. Sounds great so far. Going to leave a comment on your thread.
