What is the best bass compressor to throw on my pedal board? Also, what are thoughts on fea labs dual engine compressor?

This might interest you. There's no "best", it depends what you're looking for. The Markbass Compressore, for example, is one of the best I've ever tried; it's a valve compressor, and actually uses the valve to compress as opposed to simply as a gain stage as is the case with most valve compressors, and sounds great in the process. However, it's a giant bulk of a thing and requires a different power source to conventional pedals, which made it too much hassle for me to consider putting on my board.

Take a look at the Keeley Compressor. It is highly respected throughout the industry for both guitar and bass.
