I was looking at buying one last year some time, I was almost got one for about $850 AUD. but decided not to, I did see some for about up to $1100, but that's all inflated australian prices. maybe 600-800 in us?

Yeah the ones on eBay are rather pricey used

Not really, tube amps don't really depreciate much past the point of which you take it out of the store

I'd say ~$4-500 is where I'd be comfortable buying one.

$400ish is fair. I have one, and that's what I paid from a shop (used). They are well worth it, imo. It's one I will never part with. Paired with a 2:95, it really delivers the goods, as long as you don't try for metal with it.
