I play bass in an indie rock band that's slightly heavy at some points and I play through an ampeg v4b classic tube bass head. I have a green Russian sovtek big muff running through an Xotics blender. I'm looking for a compression pedal to run my clean bass signal through. I play with a pick mainly and I want a compression pedal that will allow me to keep as much low end as possible. Would an empress or diamond be better? Or better yet what would be the best compression to use?

MXR Bass Compressor.
Damn it! Disable can't use disable to disable Disable's disable because disable's disable has already been disabled by Disable's disable!

The Keeley Compressor is legendary among both bassists and guitarists. I used to recommend the EBS Multi Comp, but the Keeley is definitely more respected. It has also recently been re-designed for bass.
