Hey guys,

So I replaced the brandless 12AX7 tube that came with my Line 6 DT25 with an Electro Harmonix one three months ago. Everything was going fine, but today, I turned it onto Low Volume mode (when the EL84 tubes aren't used) and it sounded awful. It sounded extremely digital when each individual string was played. The 12AX7 also wasn't lit up, while the EL84's were. I hadn't been playing guitar on it consistently since I replaced the tube, maybe playing it for an hour or two every week. What's going on? Did I get a bad tube?

Put the old tube back in and see what happens? Are you sure it's not just the nature of the beast?

Hmmm....Warranty?

Can't think of one that I'd be willing to try if it's under warranty. Sucks, but send it back.

Turns out that Thomann only offer repair inside the 3 year warranty, and since I'm in Ireland and they're based in Germany, it almost seems better to get a local repair in the long run.

Thanks for the help guys.
