Hi, I'm a fairly minimalist guitar player, not into loads of pedals but one I've always loved is the wah. I've had 2 Dunlop Crybabies (one bought as a replacement after losing one at a gig) and both of them at some point have have the same problem: when using the wah it's fine, but when it's off the signal is barely audible. It's not all the time, and I know my cables are fine so what could be the problem?
Cheers, David

IIRC when bypassed the only component in play is the switch. If this is the case then the fault has to be the switch itself or the wiring.

It's the switch. For some reason the switches on crybabies fail all the time. I had the same problem, worked fine when turned on, lost all signal when turned off. I had to change the switch on mine about 3 or 4 times now, so it can't be the stock switch fault...

Anyway, just change the switch, and while you're at it, you can easily mod it to make it true bypass.

crybabies are not true bypass at least I wouldn't think so considering all the "true bypass for crybaby" mods I've seen. Maybe some are but I believe most aren't.

I know I've seen schematics where they are.
OK, techy crybaby freaks. Give us the low down, I'm sure there's a saga hiding in the somewhere.
