Hey guys new to the forum, been playing guitar for about a good 6-7 months now, self taught, i play for fun and can play so far... ( excluding the faster solos of course )

Whom the bell tolls - metallica
Seek and destroy - metallica
Paranoid - black sabbath
Master of puppets -metallica ( Although a lot lot slower than the original speed )
Sad but true - metallica

Well yeah you get the point lol

Anyway my question is... i have a Kirkhammet - 202 LTD
Now i love this guitar a lot, i love how it feels, plays, sounds and everything, but what i dont like is the fact that its a floyd rose, so i was wondering if theres any very similar guitars to that one without the floyd rose ??

Thanks guys... heres a pic of the guitar...

You can block the FR on your guitar and it will act as a hardtail

2013 G&L ASAT Deluxe
2009 Epiphone G-400 (SH-4)
Marshall JCM2000 DSL100
Krank 1980 Jr 20watt
Krank Rev 4x12 (eminence V12)
GFS Greenie/Digitech Bad Monkey
Morley Bad Horsie 2

this is what you want
http://www.tremol-no.com/

pop it in and it's like having no floyd rose, but with the tuning stability that floyds have. When you want to use the floyd (when you can play some solos) just a twist of the thumbscrew, it's probably the best invention since the floyd rose it's self.

Someone is wrong on the internet. Only you can help.

If you like the guitar this is what you want to do.

I am not that big of a fan of tremolos on my guitars. Personally, I'd rather play a guitar than tinker with it. But that is my fault because I never had the patience to really how to properly adjust a Floyd. I would certainly recommend that you learn how to use it right, but I can't blame you for blocking it. Please don't take this as a criticism, just some friendly advice considering the vintage Metallica that you like to play.

Also, take the time to peg down the solo to Paranoid. It's not that hard, has some awesome runs in it, and is very rewarding.

I played on a comparable Dinky for years. If you swap the pups, you'll be set for a long time. I personally would go for passive Seymour Duncans, but that's just my preference.

Do try one out though, if you can. That's the best way to call the final verdicht

Thank you to everyone who replied

Ill try out the jackson and see how i like it

The only reason i dont like the floyd rose is because for me its impossible to setup, or even tune it, i know how to do it but i dont have the patience for it unfortunately

And yeah im already half way through the paranoid solo, for some reason i lost interest becasue it got a little hard :`)

Thanks again guys

I love the dinkys. I have had many of them from the cheapest $129 to the dinky pro. If you plan on changing the pickups anyway, I would get one of the cheaper ones with the jackson pickups instead of the EMG's. You are paying more for them.

Also consider this Jackson, I think they released this series a few months ago (Not sure though): http://jacksonguitars.com/guitars/dinky/models/pro-series-dk2ht-rosewood-fingerboard-metallic-black/

Nice passive pickups, black finish, cutaways on the horns for easier access, and a flat top, which the other one linked above was an arched I think.

I definitely would buy it if i was rich :P thanks for the suggestion tho

Im definitely going to just buy a dinky, and change the pickups, easier + better option for me...im never buying a floyd rose again, dont get me wrong, they are fun but just too much hastle for me, even my guitar tech hates setting them up and hes been doing it for 30 years :P

So final conclusion is get a dinky and change the pickups, thanks for all the help guys much appreciated

Think i should get the James hetfield pickups, or EMG 81's ?
