Hey guys! I don't know if this is the appropriate sub-forum for this, but

could you guys suggest some solo guitar piece to play for a competition. It is a two part competition. The first is a solo guitar piece performance. The other part will be improvisation over a backing track.

Can you suggest a piece of intermediate difficulty? Totally solo. Something that sounds impressive. But not too hard, cause I don't have a lot of time.

Some nice Jazz piece would be preferred but I don't have any ideas.

Thanks.

EDit: Two more requirements:

a) There might be no option of a backing track, so give me suggestions accordingly.
b)I can do either electric or acoustic, but acoustic is preferred.

No, I judge people based on how similar they are to me.
The greater the similarity, the more of a total ****ing **** they are.

Pick out one of Tommy's pieces. Great acoustic guitar interpretations complete with skill and humor:

"Your sound is in your hands as much as anything. It's the way you pick, and the way you hold the guitar, more than it is the amp or the guitar you use." -- Stevie Ray Vaughan

"Anybody can play. The note is only 20 percent. The attitude of the motherfucker who plays it is 80 percent." -- Miles Davis

this site has a like a ton of Solo jazz chord melody pieces and shows you how to play them, then you just edit it to your liking and add your own groove / feel. Really try it, go to "solo guitar" up top and then go to the jazz section.
it links you pieces like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EuS6YcNBm8#t=14
