I just picked up a guitar that has 2 Dimebuckers in it.
That is a SUPER hot P/U for the neck position.
That, and I've got another guitar that still has factory P/Us in it that i'm going to throw one of those Dimebuckers in.

So, what should i go with?

I don't use the neck P/U much, but when I do it's either for some bluesy lead or to get a good dark clean tones.

jazz maybe?

i'd have thought the tonezone would be way too hot in the neck (though it might balance ok with the dimebucker).

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

Yeah, tonezone might be a bit hotter than what i'm looking for.

I'm looking for a almost single coil sound... but i want more gain than that. I just want the tone...

The DiMarzio Humbucker from Hell is bright like a single coil.

i had thought about a 59, but wasn't sure that'd be good in the neck position. i just don't know much about what bucker goes good there.

you guys have given me some great ideas though.

thanks,

it's a really nice neck pickup. fairly low output, though. personally i find lower output neck pickups match higher output bridge pickups fine, but your mileage may vary on that.

If you are going to keep the bridge dimebucker, put a 59 in the neck. You'd want something slightly bright to match up with the dimebucker.
Charvel So-Cal (SH6TB/N, killswitch), Jackson RR5FR (TB6/Jazz, Drop C). Joyo pxl pro.
Loop1=Crybaby from hell, Boss PS-5, Seymour Duncan 805 or Green Rhino, EQD Hoof or Earthbound Audio Super Collider. Loop 1 into ISP Decimator II.
Loop 2 (FX loop)-Line6 M9, TC Spark Mini. Loop 2 into mxr 10band. All into a Peavey Triple XXX 212, Ibanez IL15.

does the 59 tap well?

and if not, what would?

normally hotter pickups split best since low output humbuckers are pretty weak when split. i don't think i've tried the 59 or jazz split, though (my guitars with them don't have splits fitted).

I have a SD Jazz in the neck of my 335 and it is clean clean. A 59 might suit my playing style a bit better being just a little rowdier with more hair on it. Another option is a P90. That makes a great neck PU and adds a new dimension to the guitar. JM2c
