So, I was in a pawn shop today, and among the many Strat copies, there was a Gretsch. It was aqua/sea green colored. Single cutaway, with bigsby, and it was hollowbody. It had the classic Gretsch headstock. But it had these weird variation of the standard thumb-inlays - they were diamond shaped.
What guitar is it?
Without pictures, it will be very difficult to identify it. Gretsch has done a number of different inlays over the years, and then there is the possibility that the inlays were a one-off or aftermarket custom job. Hell; they could be fretboard stickers. Can you get us a picture of the guitar?
