Wrote a short new tune today and figured I'd slap the lyrics up on here! Constructive criticism please? (Btw, Broadway in this tune is the street my college is located on, not the Broadway in New York).

"Sunset on Broadway"

I don't advise going out at night
These city lights will bring you down
Here's to dirt roads and county lines
Running barefoot through the rain

Taking time to turn around
See just what you've lost
Just in time to hear the sounds
Of the setting sun on Broadway
Before it disappears...

The white lines all seem winding
Down this empty, tired road
Is it me that you keep finding?
Terrified of all that's left

Taking time to turn around
See just what you've lost
Just in time to hear the sounds
Of the setting sun on Broadway
Before it disappears...

Taking time to turn around
See just what you've lost
Just in time to hear the sounds
Of the setting sun on Broadway
Before it disappears...

And once it's gone can it not return?
I know you don't believe a single word
Once it's gone can it not return?
What took so long will I never learn?

Taking time to turn around
See just what you've lost
Just in time to hear the sounds
Of the setting sun on Broadway
Before it disappears...

Taking time to turn around
See just what you've lost
Just in time to hear the sounds
Of the setting sun on Broadway
Before it disappears...

I don't advise going out at night
The city lights will break us down
