Which country produced the most great bands?

I always preferred mainly American music despite being British. For me British pop and classic rock, american jazz and metal.

all jokes aside, Britain obviously before the 90's, then I like mostly US

well

US got Velvet Underground and Television
UK got The Clash and Babyshambles. But the UK also got Oasis, so I'll have to go with US.

I'm a massive classic Prog fan so for that UK
For metal the UK and US have a good variety
France for Uneven Structure and Gojira
Sweden for Opeth and 90's melodeath... and Abba
Canada for Protest The Hero, Rush and Alexisonfire/city and colour
Jazz is USA
Blues is USA but blues-rock is UK
Pop is USA and UK
Australia for Knife Party, Moog and Northlane

It's often been been back and forth between the U.K and the U.S.A..

In the early early days, the US had blues and jazz and swing while we had f*coming BBC radio..

Then the torch passed over the U.K with the arrival of the likes of the Beatles, Stones and The Who..(even though the US had The Doors, so suck on that, Europe).

Back to the U.S in the eighties.. The only thing we really had, apart from the few odd gems (Police, Bowie) were Rick Astley and company. While America was spewing out jazz funk and the beginning if thrash.

Then, in the '90's, it was a bit of both, though I prefer what was coming out of America.

Same goes for now, I guess.

Your profile says you like pop-punk so your opinion is invalid.
