since summer is coming, its time we make a seasonal road playlist. (yes this thread has been done, but im putting a new spin on it.... it's summer, and it's whole albums!)

I don't know about you guys, but the music that I feel like listening to changes with the seasons. not just the particular artists, but the styles, genres, and even just the "moods".

we've had a few warm days now, and I've had the summer car out a few times, and so far I've been gravitating towards the following albums (there are many, but these ones get repeat plays)

Daytime:
Soundgarden - Bad Motorfinger
Soundgarden - Superunknown (the lighter, "rockier" side [my wave, superunknown, she likes surprises])
Keith Urban - Golden Road
AC/DC - High Voltage/highway to hell
Nirvana - In Utero
Outkast - Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik
Zep - II

Nighttime:
Soundgarden - superunknown (The dark heavy side [mailman, 4th of july, etc])
Weeknd - House of Balloons
Drake - Paris Morton Music only
Zep - Houses of the Holy (you know why)
John Mayer - Born And Raised/Continuum/Heavier Things
Pearl Jam - Ten
Jeff Beck - Blow By Blow

go! help us make an awesome summer playlist!

shit, I should've also included weather conditions. Bad Motorfinger is more of the pure "driving" album. Superunknown is definitely driving in the rain music. Pretend my "nighttime" suggestion is also weather related. Mailman scares me, I stop paying attention to the road when it comes on.

I thought I was the only one who made CD mixes based on what it's like outside lol

I've been listening to Bill Evans in the car a lot.

A sunny day on the highway with the moon roof raised in the BMW while Bill Evans is playing?

...modes and scales are still useless.

This is a great idea for a thread.

Last summer I listened to August and Everything after by Counting Crows every time I'd cut my lawn so it became one of my favourite summer albums. The first three tracks are my favourites and good driving tunes

I've always thought of The Flatliners' The Great Awake as a good summer album. I love driving to This Respirator

I got Rumours by Fleetwood Mac on vinyl at the end of the summer and it was my favourite to listen to on a nice evening with the porch door open. Never Going Back Again and The Chain are good summer tunes

Anything by Austin Lucas, the best summer music as far as I'm concerned.

Kyuss - Welcome To Sky Valley

Actually, I feel like desert rock sorta stuff in general is awesome for driving.

Also, Sleep - Dopesmoker. By the time it's over you're practically there!
Listen. I'm sorry.
