So, I'm guessing you guys have seen all these selfies of chicks without make up on Facebook. Pretty good cause and idea.

But, damn, I saw some chicks who I thought were up in the 8s sink down to 6s and 7s into 5s. They weren't the majority, some of them looked even better without makeup. Not all though, this IS Britain.

But it made me think of women have this leg-up with make-up. They may look like an 8, you might think she's intimidatingly attractive, but when she woke up that morning, she was a 6. It's a lie.

It's like a guy telling a chick he's a "manager of a major company" and give the perceived value of being an alpha provider with the ability to make chicks feel safe. However, he's not saying that he's a manager of McDonalds, working with teen-age co-workers. That is also a lie.

Anyway, what's the Pit's opinion on this? Not necessarily about this cause of breast cancer awareness, I'm talking about make-up.

Another thing I noticed:

1. My male friends only talked about the chicks who looked less attractive without make up.

2. My female friends only talked about the chicks who looked unattractive with and without make-up.

Haven't seen any of that either but I think it might be a UK thing. Actually, I usually find women with no makeup more attractive. I always feel like the make-up is sort of hiding the actual face.
#5
You're Portuguese, very few Portuguese women wear make-up cuz of the weather. They'd look weird with it.
#7
Oh wow i could talk about makeup forever.

I don't know how it is where you live but most people here use makeup to accentuate their features, not completely change them. It's no more of a lie than wearing clothes that fit properly or something and it's only exclusive to women because for some reason it's less socially acceptable for guys to wear makeup. But I think everyone should take advantage of it if it makes them feel more confident.

Also the manager thing isn't a lie and being a manager at McDonald's is way better than being a manager at some other major companies.

I was going to participate in this thing because breast cancer support and all but people were starting shit about this on other people's photos and I don't need that and there are plenty of makeup-less pics of me on Facebook already.

Based on feedback I don't look much different without makeup compared to my everyday look, just more tired. People have also said "I like your makeup" when I'm not wearing any so it goes both ways. Most people I know don't wear it regularly or are guys so I don't really think they know what they're talking about anyway.

I wear it because 1) if a zit suddenly emerges in the middle of the day I'm covered 2) it makes me look older because without it people think I'm 16 3) putting makeup on is fun and relaxing and 4) helps with my manual dexterity and allows me to be creative for at least 10 minutes every day 5) why wouldn't I want to look prettier if I can do so easily

I can immediately see through the makeup to the real face IRL. I love girls that have natural beauty, ones that look better without anything. They need big eyelashes, good skin and some bone structure

edit^ yeah if it's done properly you will hardly notice anything.

Guess again.

Make up is stupid, doing your nails is stupid, spending an hour on your hair is stupid, if you're ugly, you're ugly. My roommate takes at least 2 hours getting ready before she goes out, meanwhile the sink is full of her dirty dishes that would take 2 minutes to wash. Stupid women.

it really depends on the occasion though. If you wear obvious makeup it becomes part of your outfit. My going out make up is supposed to be noticed and if it's sloppy or can't be seen then I have failed.

Do you do it for the guys, or the girls?

Cuz this confuses me.

I hear all the time that chicks do it for themselves, to make them feel better, not for the guys. Fair enough. But I get the feeling chicks judge each other much more harshly than men would, so it's like a defense mechanism. On the other hand, if a girl dolls herself up too much and looks better than most other girls, the girls turn on her. It's a vicious cycle.

On the other hand, I think you girls want to be noticed by guys as well, but pretend like you don't.

I do it for myself because I want to look perfect for whatever I am doing that day because it makes me feel better about myself and that carries over into everything else I do. How close I actually get to perfect depends on the amount of time I have. Most days that's 10 minutes and at the other extreme going out is about 30-45 minutes.

I do care about what others think of me but I would rather be too vain than too sloppy in their eyes. Everyone treats me better when I wear makeup so I wouldn't say that anyone, male or female, turns on me, where do you get that from? The guys I know really don't care and unless I am wearing green eyeliner or something they never say anything about it. Girls don't say anything either unless my makeup is obvious and then they say something about it looking nice. But wearing more makeup at a club gets you noticed more by everyone because it's dark and crowded so I take full advantage of that because I love wearing obvious makeup but can't really do it in the daytime.

If I wanted to be noticed by a guy specifically though I wouldn't do it through makeup. I'd want him to like makeupless me too since I don't wear makeup all the time.

I ****ing hate it when guys say 'natural is better'.

When you say you like girls without makeup better, you're generalizing. You don't want a girl with no makeup. You want a gorgeous bitch who looks great with and without it. Makeup exists for a reason so the less fortunate can have a chance of looking good.

Personally, I don't wear more than foundation and mascara during the day but yeah, makeup is great if you don't want to look like shit.

I do find minimal make up is great. Too much makes one look cheap.

That's another thing. In Canada all the guys said that chicks with make up on look cheap. In the UK, I've never heard guys say that, and chicks wear a lot more make up here than in Canada.

If you’re a woman and you don’t wear enough make-up, there’s about an 85% chance that the first person you see when you leave the house will ask if you’re tired or sick…
Conversely, if some dude’s inbuilt conceal-o-meter scans your eyeliner as a millimetre thicker than the Department of Warpaint’s cat eye regulations, you’re likely to be charged with five counts of Offences Against Natural Beauty…
Part of this phenomenon is that a lot of people, and almost all men, don’t understand how make-up works. Make-up was, and still is to a large extent, one of those private self-maintenance tasks ladies perform out of male view, because putting it on openly ****s with the illusion it’s supposed to create. Traditional make-up - and especially ‘no make-up make-up’ - is supposed to make your face look ‘naturally beautiful’…
Sponging on the foundation where dudes can see messes with men’s suspension of disbelief and can even cause anger, confusion or disgust. You tricked me!, he thinks. I thought you were a natural beauty! Now I see [it was] an illusion… “If I know she wears make-up,” muses the dude, “maybe she burps and farts as well. That’s not hot at all, and women are supposed to be hot…”
Wearing ‘too much’ make-up also renders the make-up itself visible, rather than contributing to the impression of a woman’s inbuilt, effortless ****ability. It’s often connected to unbecoming displays of overt sexuality: … ‘that heavy eye shadow makes you look like a *****’…
This does open up the enticing possibility of using make-up in rebellious ways, though - playing with colour and glitter or doing a hot pink lip can make you look fantastic and repel men who expect more subtlety in make-up practice. Or you could take a more direct approach, like writing IT’S NOT FOR YOU across your cheek in green shimmer eyeliner. You go girl.

There's this girl in my course that wears really cool and interesting clothes, 80% she pulls it off really well. All the girls hate her. So when they do talk to her, it's to point something out that she's wearing to make her feel insecure. Not just clothes though, sometimes she'll do something different with her make up and the girls compliment her, but it's a backhanded compliment. Makes me cringe super hard. The air gets really ****in' tense.
#24
Honestly it doesn't matter to me. Whatever tickles your pickle. I don't really look at it like it's this 'big advantage' for girls. If it helps them with confidence and whatever, then more power to them. To me that sounds like it'd be worth the extra 20 minutes.

I mean, when it comes to attraction it can throw a knife in things, but so can wearing badly out of style clothes or a fedora. It's all part of the initial attraction and if you're not hooked and 'her natural face' or whatever is too unattractive to you, then you're doing her a favor just as much as yourself to get out of there.

...what ?

I'm portuguese and I can say that that is totally wrong. Maybe you just consider make-up when women stuff their faces with different types of make-up. Usually girls and women DO use make-up daily, it's just simply subtle. When you go out at night in here, you notice that the amount of make-up not only is bigger, but more evident as well.

OT there are little things some girls do that accentuates some traces of their faces that actually look better, although I do prefer when there's no make-up at all. Again, some things girls do with make up are cool though.

Yeah but they don't wear as much as in the UK. Having as much make up as they do here plus the hot weather and the sun would be really bad for their skin. Hence why at night it's more obvious.

The sun/heat has nothing to do with how much makeup is good for the skin. I would argue that more is better when it's sunny because it forms a better barrier against UV radiation (particularly reflective particles in shimmering powders and stuff)

So, if women need make up to look healthy, and not tired, or normal, are they inherently ugly or something?

Also, what is the charity for this movement?
Also, only slootts, douches, and faggots take selfies, or even use the word "selfie"

Inherently unpolished.

I'm just saying.

Biologically, as a male, you want a female who is young and fertile. Make up "influences" the truth a little bit.

This one girl in the year below me (actually all girls are below me LOLOLOL jk), she's quite good looking and wears make up everyday. After that no-make up selfie trend, she posted a picture of herself and she looks 35. She's 21. W. T F.

SO, yeah. It's misleading.

Reminds me of a guy who's bought a BMW on credit to impress chicks. They think he's got money, but they don't know he's in debt.

The no makeup selfie thing wasn't even started by a charity, which means it was started by some attention *****.

In general, makeup is ok, I only dislike it when people cover themselves in it. Use it to enhance your features, not hide them...or something.

Absolutely. Absolutely.

You know how when you go on porn sites, you get the MILF category? And then the teen category? I used to not understand why the teen category was such a big deal in comparison to MILFs. But the older I get, the more I understand it.
