Need help deciding between Les Paul Ultra 2 from Epaphone and the Gibson LPJ

Both the Gibson LPJ and the Les Paul Ultra 2 are available to me at the same price, but the Epaphone has an acoustic pickup which could mean fun blending, But on the other hand if that fun could be had with a guitar pedal then there is the Gibson. Anyways any input is greatly appreciated!

Edit:
As for what kind of music I like, I find myself always listening to progressive rock, bands like Rush, Yes, and Dream Theater.

I'd chose the Epiphone. For the price, it seems better than the Gibson you mentioned.
