Hey all, my band Special Bruise have been steadily self-recording + self-producing* our album, currently titled 'Special Bruise's High Class Circus' and have decided to release a little teaser single!

To listen, just head to our soundcloud!

Folk, Soul, Pop, Alternative.

It's probably the most poppy and accessible on the album, but we thought that's what makes a single!
There's vocal harmonies, guitar, mandolin, organ...

Please lend an ear, and i hope you enjoy!
And if you'd like to hear more, be sure to follow us over on the facebook, and help spread the word. Loads more songs on the way, some folky, some bluesy, some heavy, some happy, a few more sad, and then some hard to really describe...
It'd really mean a lot.

Thanks and much love!

*when i say self producing, i mean we leave it to Steve, the multi-instrumantalist to do the hard work!

Cheers man! Glad you enjoyed.
Like i said, we have a whole load more songs on the way, and quite a mix of sounds (not just pop/folk, there's rock, bluesyness, alternative etc).
Head over to our facebook, drop a like and they'll be along soon :]

I checked out your soundcloud too! Lots of potential, the first two guitar tracks i can imagine building and building, post-rock style. Get some ambience going, and stand around looking bored, and BAM, you have an explosions in the sky song haha.
Really dig the malfunctioning robot track too! What were you using on there?

I used Ableton for the last two tracks.

Glad to know you see the potential, that's exactly what I was thinking... making them post-rock songs, just have to find time to lay the rest of the instruments on Ableton since I don't have a band and only my guitar

I followed you on SC, would be great if you do the same to keep in touch

As I listen:

Love the upbeat intro with the guitar and bass drum.

I like the way the snare adds in to make it double-time.

Your instrumentation and vocals both sound great.

The use of backing vocals does a lot to make it more interesting.

I love the verse starting at 2:40; it's energetic and happy, and contains my favorite lyrics so far.

The only suggestion I have is that you should go all-out on the outro. If you add in more backing vocal tracks, and have the instruments start layering more, I think it could be a lot better. If you started building and getting really energetic around the three minute mark, I think it would make the way you kind of slow down and open up for the ending would be more powerful.

I really liked this; I'll be back at some point to check out your other music.

C4C? Links are in my sig.

You can do ANYTHING with Ableton once you get familiar with it. Everything on my Soundcloud was done with Ableton, without actually recording any instruments.
