So I just finished up a new tune, I'm really happy with this one, I think it's one of the best I've ever written. Check it out! Constructive criticism is very welcome!

Across that crowded bar room I saw you in the light
I couldn't drink myself brave enough to stumble toward your life
Found myself bewildered at the things running through my mind
Ordered one more to shut my mouth as you went about your night

Early that next morning, I took the long way home
Much to my amazement she'd burned everything I own
It didn't matter much to me, I didn't lose my head
I only thought of you that night and the words I shoulda said (I shoulda said)...

Can you take me for who I am?
Play me right into your hands?
Please forgive me for who I'll never be
If I could drink myself brave...

Across the crowded dance floor, she noticed him alone
She knew he didn't look much like any movie star she'd known
With hazel eyes that can't unwind, she couldn't turn away
Head in her hands she sighed, “jut let the sad song play” (and it sang)...

Can you take me for who I am?
Play me right into your hands?
Please forgive me for who I'll never be
If I could drink myself brave...

I could stand up and walk out
Or I could tell you my name...
Feel bad or get mad and
Find someone to blame...
Start a fight in the parkin' lot
Until they send me on my way...
Sleep it off in the car that night
Until the break of day...

Can you take me for who I am?
Play me right into your hands?
Please forgive me for who I'll never be
If I could drink myself brave...

Up from the table and out the door, followed you outside
You brought a cigarette to your lips it made you cough every time
You must've heard a whisper, coulda felt me watchin' you
You asked me what my name is, is was all I could do (to say)...

Can you take me for who I am?
Play me right into your hands?
Please forgive me for who I'll never be
If I could drink myself brave...
