What do I write for...?

...An ego boost, least I forget:
I write for myself
to express passion
and loosen my grip.

I filter through possibilities,
rearrange a few to determine my proclamation.
Similes act as a door while metaphors
knock with such playful provocation.

And should the mind come out to play
with a rhythm that breaks and rips;
I can only hope these articulations
echo within their thoughts as they've left my lips.

When It's gone it resonates resignation to be reread.
At least I hope, that the plot is mulled over in the readers head;

for I can only take your word
about what was heard
within the moment I captured...

...Your attention.
