My stepdad has PTSD from 9/11 and multiple tours overseas, so if this has the potential to actually do something, then I'm all for it.
#4
Marijuana actually helps with PTSD. I know several people who have been diagnosed with it and they say it helps. It's better than being pumped full of the drugs that the VA currently tries to give them.

The most common side effects associated with benzodiazepines are:

sedation,
dizziness,
weakness, and
unsteadiness.

Other side effects include:

a feeling of depression,
loss of orientation,
headache, and
sleep disturbance.

All benzodiazepines can cause physical dependence. Suddenly stopping therapy after a few months of daily therapy may be associated with withdrawal symptoms which include a feeling of loss of self-worth, agitation, and insomnia. If benzodiazepines are taken continuously for longer than a few months, stopping therapy suddenly may produce seizures, tremors, muscle cramping, vomiting, and sweating. In order to avoid withdrawal symptoms, the dose of benzodiazepines should be tapered slowly.

That sounds more like the problems of your friend, not the problems of marijuana

Your friend is f'd up, that has nothing to do with weed. Did your friend ever drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes? Because I could just as easily claim that those drugs led him to move to Oxy.

I only hate weed because nearly everyone I know who started smoking weed won't shut the f*ck up about how much weed they smoke.

I smoke a lot of weed and I can't fucking stand it when stoners brag about how much they smoke. If you need more than a bowl to yourself to get stoned, you need to lay off it, not brag about it.

what does that have to do with anything?

and besides, even if that was relevant, you don't need GOOD food to survive. you could eat a grey, almost flavorless, square that contained all the nutrients you need (and drink water).

if we banned delicious food, people wouldn't be obese

You guys, this thread is about signing a petition to help combat veterans get medical treatment for PTSD. Marijuana HAS medical benefits, to deny that is to deny science.

but people could eat alot of the 'flavourless squares' and still become obese. And delicious food doesnt make people obese. I myself, like to eat greek yoghurt with a sprinkling of granola and that doesnt make me fat

so does meth. Lets legalise that

Recent studies at Columbia University found that meth is no worse than adderall, and has almost the same chemical structure. You think that Adderall should be outlawed as well?
Multiple scientific studies show that alcohol has a greater short and long term negative effect on people. Should alcohol also be outlawed? If you think they should be that's fine, but if you don't you're a hypocrite.

Weed should just be legal.

PTSD is over-diagnosed, and over-claimed by veterans coming back from theater.
