I've decided on this pickup here http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/bass-pickups/music-man/4string/smb4d_5d_cerami/

I just had a question regarding the pickup swap.

This is the bass the pickup will be going into - http://www.lamusic.ca/AVALANCHE-5-STRING-Active-Bass-Guitar-p/avalanche5.htm

My bass has an active preamp, am I going to come across any problems putting in the new pickup?

Thanks.

Unless it's one of the SD or EMG preamps that only work with active pickups you'll be fine. What's the bass and the pickup you're replacing?

The pickup is going into this bass http://www.lamusic.ca/AVALANCHE-5-STRING-Active-Bass-Guitar-p/avalanche5.htm Nothing special by any means, which is why I'm replacing the stock pickups.

It will work fine. Just download the wiring diagram and follow the directions. If your bass has no battery powered preamp/tone circuit, use Duncan's instructions for wiring it up in such basses:
